You may have enough insulation in your building; it’s just in the wrong places. *

*
Often we put insulation just over the drop ceiling. Unfortunately this area is not well sealed against air infiltration. Typically heating and cooling ducts run above the insulation where they lose heat or cool air to that attic space. It is better to insulate under or on top of the roof. Your heating and cooling systems don’t have to work so hard and you can have fewer penetrations between the inside and outside of your insulation. To learn more about reducing your energy costs and getting more comfortable, contact EMS Environmental for your Energy S.O.S.
